Where's the beef?

Not on our plates, though there's plenty of it in Outback Steakhouse. Outback is an Australian steakhouse restaurant and its interiors are liberally decorated with koalas, kangaroos, alligators, boomerangs and aboriginal art. There's a bar on the other side of those lovely wood-paneled booths if all you care for is a drink. Outback is also an international franchise—based in Tampa, Florida! Ah, globalization.

  4. Hilda, thanks for your comment on my site. I look forward to your photos also. I have not yet been to Manila but hope to go there someday. Your photo today is great but I am surprised an Outback steakhouse landed in Manila. An odd location for one.

  5. We also have one here... they all pretty much look the same. I guess that's a comfort to some people. :)

    I will admit that their food is quite good for a chain. I like their salads and my husband says the steaks are a very good value.

  8. We used to have one of those in Boise, ID. And it went out of business. We ate there once and consumed the saltiest food I ever remember in a restaurant.

  9. We have to travel 40 miles to get to an Outback restuarant. The interior of that restaurant is very similar to the one you pictured. Ah, globalization!

    It was fun being tagged. hehehe and i am looking forward to that coffee after a hard day of shopping like u promised.

    The restaurant looks good. I have not had anything 'Australian' ever... hmmm i must search for the Indian counterpart of this Australian join in Delhi.

    P.S: Republic Day is different from Independence Day. Republic Day is the day India adopted its constitution. We celebrate our independence day on August 15.

  12. Great picture Hilda! I'll bet you didn't know that Tim Gannon, one of the co-founders of Outback is an alumnus of Florida State University here in Tallahassee. He is a big supporter of FSU and comes back from time to time to visit.

  15. Lovely mellow light in the restaurant. It looks very inviting...there's an Australian bar near Valbonne though it's not quite as up market as yours :)

    We don't have that chain over here (as far as I know) but we do have the American one Frankie and Benny's, which I'm quite a fan of.

  21. Can you believe we even have a Outback on my island. It's not in Ramsey, but Dougals the capitol. Very popular place especially when the rugby is on.

  26. The 'blooming onion' from there is about the only thing I miss (from the US). I don't even see onions that large in Switzerland!
