Jorge de Leon's gift to Manila

This was my other choice for my March theme day post: one of the stained glass windows in Malate Church depicting Jesus being baptized by John in the Jordan River with the Holy Spirit descending on Him in the form of a dove. I actually like the colors of this photo much better. A dark interior with bright daylight outside brought out the brilliant colors of the stained glass very well. Unfortunately, I do not know anything about Malate Church's windows—who the artist is or when they were created. The only thing I know about this panel is that it was donated by someone named Jorge de Leon, as it says at the bottom.

    That's a very nice art piece. The studio I work at has in the past done windows that were commissioned by clients that they donated to their church.

    You have got to love stained glass. I can imagine the effect it had on people before colour TV or cinema.

    I have stained glass windows in my bedroom, nothing this grand of course! ;)

    Very nice. I was in Malate church last week. My friend and I were walking along the area hot and tired. We saw the church and decided to go inside and pray. I didn't notice this stained window.

    That's a fabulous shot - stained glass is so difficult to photograph (well, it is for amateurs like me anyway!). You've captured it perfectly!
