When
Shangri-La Plaza mall in
Ortigas Center set up "The Ledge," a row of restaurants on its 6th level, they had to provide a place for people to smoke after their meal (with or without their Starbucks coffee). This outdoor ledge was bare concrete when it was first made available to customers, but it looks quite nice now with its painted floor and potted plants. Just don't go out there at noon in the middle of summer or in strong rains.
See what's reflecting what at James' Weekend Reflections.
I suppose the plants are much needed for the oxygen, then!! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks to be pleasant outdoor space now. Nice reflection.
ReplyDeleteI think one of the reasons fewer people smoke these days is that it is too difficult. But I'll bet there are folks puffing away at noon on a hot summer's day or in the middle of a rainstorm!
ReplyDeleteAmazing how things change. Thirty years ago I sat in many meetings where the air was so thick with smoke you could barely see across the table. That same organization now bans all smoking in their buildings!
I like the reflection but I LOVE your them day photo. Absolutely breathtaking.

It would not be nice out their is everyone else was smoking either. Filthy habit.
ReplyDeleteBut nice reflections on The Ledge.
I love the angle you've used on this.
ReplyDeleteFor a certain amount of time public authority buildings are now as well free of smoke - yet Greece remains to be a country with the most smokers in Europe.
ReplyDeletePlease have a wonderful Saturday.
I really like the angle of this shot :)
ReplyDeleteWow, it's been a while I have not visited Manila, I'll catch this place this summer ...
ReplyDeletegreat reflection.
I love live/real plants in pots! It reminds me I need to get some new house plants!
ReplyDeleteFor being a "smokers patio" this is really nice. I guess everyone gets treated well, even the puffers.
ReplyDeletegreat angle and composition
ReplyDeleteGreat angle and reflection. Wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteI like the photo, nice composition and beautiful clear shot.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Great shot. Very nice angle. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine this nice place in a cloud of smoke...
ReplyDeleteGreat angle and interesting composition. I love things in a row in I'm happy to see the table, chairs, plans and windows all in a row! Great reflections!
ReplyDeletePretty scene here but I imagine it looks quite different when the smokers are out there!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely! If I were a smoker I'd definately enjoy this open space ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this reflecting look at your world today.
ReplyDeleteI love all the potted plants, looks like a pleasant place to sit. Great reflection too!
ReplyDeletewow, I have never heard of a place being built so people could have a place to smoke! It seems like a good solution to segregate the smokers from the nonsmokers-how considerate.
ReplyDeleteHere in America, the smokers are left to fend for themselves. I am so not used to being around smokers that if I pass someone on the street who is smoking I find I need to hold my breath as I walk by them.
you captured a nice reflection here...like that open area.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that even Tennessee now bans smoking in restaurants. But most of the places provided for smokers are not this nice.
ReplyDeleteNice reflection. This looks like a nice open space, but I bet it is hot at midday with all that glass. Kathy
ReplyDeleteHmmm, very interesting shot. I only see one ash tray. Smoking is a very bad habit to kick.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a good weather reflected on the glass window.
Enjoy your weekend, Hilda.
il fallait y penser ;O)
ReplyDeleteI really like this perspective, Hilda!
ReplyDeleteI like this photo, and the angle you have taken it from.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice outdoor space.
