Quezon City Hall has a brand-new civic center building. I was on my way elsewhere and didn't have time to check it out though. I hope I can go back soon to find out what it's all about. I've heard of civic centers in American cities and towns, but it was the first time I saw one in my own city and I'm wondering if it will be offering similar services.
Well what's in a name? Looks pretty nice and I like the yellow paint.
ReplyDeleteIt's yellow fever, gone are the pink days!
ReplyDeleteYou know I like most of your modern architecture and this nice building is no exception.

I like the yellow too. We have a civic center here and it's used for all sorts of events.
ReplyDeleteOur civic center is a theater-type place. This one looks more office-y. Hope you will get lots of enjoyment from it though. I like the colors.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting and I think it's an attractive building - modernistic but there's some warmth there, too.
ReplyDeleteRe "civic center": I think this can mean any number of things. I'd be interested in knowing what those words will mean in this case.
This looks (to borrow Halcyon's word) "office-y" - civic centers in the U.S. are often entertainment venues.
ReplyDeleteYellow is the French postal service colour, so this looks more office than cultural centre. We'll no doubt find out what it's about.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very attractive building, but I agree that it looks more like an office than what we typically call a civic center over here. Civic centers are used for many different types of events, so it will be interesting to see how this building is used.
ReplyDeleteHope it will have all kinds of nice things to offer you.
ReplyDeleteWell, Hilda, I'm going to go against the grain here and say this building does not appeal to me. Not at all. Not as an office building; certainly not as a civic center. I sure hope this is not the start of the "yellowification" of Manila... uuggh! (I wonder how long the P-Noy honeymoon will last.) But I AM interested to hear from you what it has to offer inside.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow walls are really charming!
ReplyDeleteLooks like there's plenty of room there to offer something interesting to the citizens!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you!

Its a tall edifice, and I love the yellow paint!
