Since I'm absolutely awful with plant names, it's kind of useless asking me what these flowers are called. Each flower looks like a tiny bouquet of even smaller flowers. When I was much younger, I remember seeing only all-yellow or all-white ones. I like this dual-color variety so much better, and I love how the gardener mixed the baby pink/ fuschia and yellow/orange bushes together.
de belles fleurs, belles couleurs
ReplyDeleteThe name isn't important. The fact that they are beautiful is.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing lantana. But don't quote me. Very charming and cheerful.
ReplyDeleteIt's lantana alright. I love the flowers . They can grow pretty wild and shrubby. The locals call it 'tahi ayam' meaning... chicken dung!'coz of the smell tho not as bad as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! And Keats, the Malaysians got it right—I think it stinks too. :p
ReplyDeleteI think these are lantana. Butterflies love them! And I do too, they were popular in Jackson, but I haven't seen any in Toronto. I'll have to look this spring though. :)
ReplyDeleteLantanas. I loved these tiny bouquets of flowers as a child. Mama always had some growing. I tried to grow some two years ago and they didn't survive. Not sure why. Those in your photo are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThese are Lantana blooms. I used to have them growing in a pot in my garden. The blooms cheer me up each morning before I go to work. They are so bright in color. Seeing them appearing in many clusters, never cease to put a smile on my face.
