I'm no beer connoisseur, but this is my favorite local beer: San Miguel Cerveza Negra, a dark lager. Unfortunately, I can't have much of it anymore for various health reasons. I had a bottle last night, and consumed my serving for the month. I know some people will call me a Philistine for having my beer with ice, but with Metro Manila's temperatures, it's the only way to keep your beer cold—unless you can drink a bottle within five minutes or you're fine with warm beer.
I put ice in my red wine..diehard winos get really upset when I do that! ha ha. That beer looks really good, I know you enjoyed your quota.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of dark beers too, if I ever see this beer in my local bar I'll be sure to give it a try. I find I like beer when it is not too cold, but don't care for really warm beer so I might put ice in it if I were there too. Stay well.
ReplyDeleteHi Hilda! I notice your new flavicon (?) cool! I wanted to put one up too but I still haven't decided what mine would be.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried cerveza negra before maybe l'll try one soon.
ma bière préférée, est une bière belge : "la mort subite"
ReplyDeletemy favorite beer is a Belgian beer: "sudden death"
Hilda, I'm not a fan of beer because of the calorie count, but this is a great photo, the sweating bottle and glass looks very refreshing. My husband just looked and said he'll take one!
ReplyDeleteAlways cold!!
ReplyDeleteI'll drink it in 5 minutes! LOL
I'd love to give this one a try, beer is something you can find pretty much everywhere, and always done a little differently. Bring on a dark lager with ice!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to a beer festival on friday, I can't wait. I don't mind the ice - needs must!
ReplyDeleteI also ice my beer, except you are way braver than I! I prefer beer you can see through.
ReplyDeletePour répondre a ta question, il y a 24 tilleuls sur la cathédrale d'Evry car ils symbolisent la couronne d'épines du Christ et la résurrection.
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question, there are 24 limes on the Cathedral of Evry because they symbolize the crown of thorns of Christ and the resurrection.
It looks nice..
ReplyDelete"Louis" doesn't blame you for icing the beer, knowing a little about the weather in Manila...
ReplyDeleteIgnore the purists and please yourself!
I agree with Louis - if it feels good, do it!
ReplyDeleteI also enjoy dark beers...very hearty.
Mmmm thats strange... last night the B which stands for blogger turned into a globe.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with ice. My favoutite beer is belgian called kriek. A beautiful red cheery flavoured beer. W don't get in on the island so we have to get friends to bring it over when they visit from the UK. I like san Miquel, but it doesn't like me.
ReplyDeletewhoa. how hot and humid it must be there? I should stop complaining about the heat!
Oh. My. Goodness. This Belgian gal is closing her eyes in shock! Ice cubes in beer! Oh boy, you're in trouble Missy! :D
ReplyDelete[But not as much as the gentleman adding ice to his wine. ;) ]
I can't drink for health reasons either, but warm beer doesn't sound good at all, so I would go for the ice too. This blog is such an interesting look at your country. Thank you!..Michelle
