I posted a photo of the Ateneo de Manila Church of the Gesù last month, but one taken at night. This is what the church looks like at high noon on a very sunny day. The glare from all that white can be tremendous. The statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus stands on a little plaza with stone benches in front of the church. It is not uncommon for the students of the university to sit there, chatting with their friends, in the early evenings.

hmmmm an interesting very white building!!
Wow - that kind of white can hurt the eyes. And then the glass on top adds to the hot feeling of the picture.
Nice pic Hilda. That white building must dominate the whole scene. It really looks spectacular.
I m fascinated by churches...and this one is great too.
Looks peaceful...
Dazzling! That is sooo white, its an interesting design too!
Very nice shot, we have a church here with similar architecture.
I love looking at different kinds of architecture. Thanks for posting this one.
Nice contemporary architecture. Very different from what we have in NYC.
Looks like an cool place to hang out!
a beautiful place! I really like it. :)
Same 50-year-old dream but so different in daylight.
It really is a striking buiding and the white glare is so dazzling. I onder if the kids who congregate outside join the congregation inside.
Babooshka,
Since it's not a parish church, it can't have masses every day. Aside from special university masses, the only regular masses are during First Fridays, and the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. This last two are mainly for alumni, and the church is always filled to overflowing then.
That's a grand architecture, Hilda. The shape of dome/roof reminds me of similar Catholic Church architecture on Sukajadi Street here in Bandung, though of course it doesn't look as grand as the one in your picture.
cette église toute blanche est très belle et surtout très surprenante.
c'est comment à l'intérieur ?
the white church is very beautiful and above all very surprising.
is how inside?
