Who's shooting whom?
I wasn't the only one taking pictures at the harbor last Saturday evening. I saw these three with their big cameras and fancy lenses and couldn't resist taking their photo with my itsy-bitsy camera. [No, I am not dissing it—I love my itsy-bitsy camera! I always bring it with me and it fits in the pocket of my tightest jeans and I can hide it in my palm.] We were all at the baywalk beside Harbour Square, a row of restaurants and cafés beside the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The boats behind them are the ferries which go to Corregidor Island, which was an important naval defense base during WWII and is now an historical and tourist site.

Very interesting, Hilda - "Louis" had to laugh about your itsy-bitsy camera as he has just retired his toy Olympus because Mme la Vache brought him a spiffy new Nikon back from her trip to Japan and China.

He he he ... I always love photos of photographers in action. Somehow they make me think of how I must look like when hunting for pictures. :)
Yes, small pocket cameras are definitely more convenient. I use it more often than my DSLR.
Philippines Cultural Center? I think I've been there. Is it the one that Imelda Marcos had it built? Do you have a picture of it?

Years ago I took a photography class at night school.
Yes, I did forget everything they taught me, but thanks for asking.
This is the sort of sight we created at the time, lots of people taking pictures of more or less the same thing and trying to do it artistically.
I had to laugh when I saw this post. I just now finished editing a post along the same lines for my Thursday posting, only I was photographing an outdoor modeling photo session. From what I can see here, your little Canon is holding its own. Your photos look fabulous. Thank you for the comment you left on my page.

I’ll admit that I too like the small camera that easily slips in and out of the pocket. Sometimes I crave a big, powerful thing with multiple lenses etc, but I know that I wouldn’t use it nearly as much (I use it every day now).
Good picture. I had my picture taken by a professional photographer with his humungous camera, while I stood there with my diddycam - I felt like a right twit, but it did make me laugh!
I know when I first got the big camera and the lens I felt Like a photo giant. I still use my little olympus sometimes for candid shots. I alwasy say you can have the big fancypants camera, but you still need to be able to shoot. You carry on. The woman behind the little camera takes very interesting images for me.
