I wasn't the only one taking pictures at the harbor last Saturday evening. I saw these three with their big cameras and fancy lenses and couldn't resist taking their photo with my itsy-bitsy camera. [No, I am not dissing it—I love my itsy-bitsy camera! I always bring it with me and it fits in the pocket of my tightest jeans and I can hide it in my palm.] We were all at the baywalk beside Harbour Square, a row of restaurants and cafés beside the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The boats behind them are the ferries which go to Corregidor Island, which was an important naval defense base during WWII and is now an historical and tourist site.

Very interesting, Hilda - "Louis" had to laugh about your itsy-bitsy camera as he has just retired his toy Olympus because Mme la Vache brought him a spiffy new Nikon back from her trip to Japan and China.
"Louis" would like to visit Corregidor - he'll check the link you posted.
Beautiful sky in the background of this image.
"Louis" just visited the Corregidor link - he wants to thank you and then head back to read more.
Thanks for your photo. It was a great idea the comparisons of your own camera and of them.
Thanks for leave your comment at murciadailyphoto.blogspot.com
Hello !
TRES JOLIE PHOTO !
Dans le crépuscule...
and what kind of itsy bitsy camera are you using?
As a matter of interest what were they snapping so intently?
You've captured a spectacular sunset there..
Ken:
A Canon Ixus 80IS. The tiniest that Canon has, I think. I adore it!
Angela:
Same view as I posted yesterday and the other day. ;)
hehehe dami talaga photog na capture ng manila bay :) at grabe nanyari na rin sa akin yan lahat ng kasabay ko dala nila professional at high tech na cameras hahaha
Thanks for sharing what your itsy bitsy camera is- I was wondering!
He he he ... I always love photos of photographers in action. Somehow they make me think of how I must look like when hunting for pictures. :)
Yes, small pocket cameras are definitely more convenient. I use it more often than my DSLR.
Philippines Cultural Center? I think I've been there. Is it the one that Imelda Marcos had it built? Do you have a picture of it?
Hilda, this is great! The hunters are hunted!
beaucoup de photographes pour cet evenement. superbe ta photo.
Years ago I took a photography class at night school.
Yes, I did forget everything they taught me, but thanks for asking.
This is the sort of sight we created at the time, lots of people taking pictures of more or less the same thing and trying to do it artistically.
I had to laugh when I saw this post. I just now finished editing a post along the same lines for my Thursday posting, only I was photographing an outdoor modeling photo session. From what I can see here, your little Canon is holding its own. Your photos look fabulous. Thank you for the comment you left on my page.
Another itsy-bitsy camera fan here, Hilda! :-)
Nice shot!
Your post made me smile. I need to look at those itsy-bitsies. You take great photos.
I’ll admit that I too like the small camera that easily slips in and out of the pocket. Sometimes I crave a big, powerful thing with multiple lenses etc, but I know that I wouldn’t use it nearly as much (I use it every day now).
Good picture. I had my picture taken by a professional photographer with his humungous camera, while I stood there with my diddycam - I felt like a right twit, but it did make me laugh!
I know when I first got the big camera and the lens I felt Like a photo giant. I still use my little olympus sometimes for candid shots. I alwasy say you can have the big fancypants camera, but you still need to be able to shoot. You carry on. The woman behind the little camera takes very interesting images for me.
This is such a good photo, Hilda. I'm glad you decided to post it.
Thanks for coming to visit my blog.
