People stared at me a lot when I was in China - even in big cities like Shanghai where there are plenty of westerners. I guess people are just attracted to something that's different.
WHen my family used to visit Mexico, my platinum blonde, fair, blue-eyed cousin was often treated with this kind of fascination. And I remember a Swedish friend telling me that I would be popular in her home town because I was brunette with dark brown eyes and that was considered more exotic among all the blondes there. Grass is always greener! Sheesh!
Hi Hilda, My daughter looks at her Japanese friend and her family just like this! What's a bit different attracts...I know I'm repeating myself, but these kids are really fantastic! Ciao. Antonella
What a glorious photo Alice - you really captured the little girl's curiosity!!! Blond people are also very interesting to people in PNG. My youngest daughter was followed around by people wanting to touch her hair - much to her disgust I'm afraid!!!!
Her face is a picture. We take for granted such a mix in the UK. i have a male friend who teaches in Japan and he is blond blue eyed and the kids rub his hair for luck.
Thanks for your recent comments, I am just recovering from a second heart attack so it's nice to find the time to have a look at other folks' photographs.

It looks to me like she still hasn't seen a natural blonde, but you take what you can get. 6^) The girl's expression is adorable.

Some very charmed smiles here!
Such fascination on the little girl's face. This is a precious photo.
Wonderful. Love the candidness of this shot and the adoration of these girls.
What a great shot Hilda. You were there at the right moment. She does stand out in this crowd.
