The very first photograph of my very first attempt to take pictures of fireworks. It was the only decent shot too. I couldn't quite get the timing right between the 'boom' and the click of the shutter so many of the photos were just of smoke. Ah well. I hope I'll have other opportunities to try again. This was part of the fireworks that greeted alumni of the Ateneo de Manila University during the 2008 Grand Alumni Homecoming.
Bravo !
ReplyDeletewell done. I know hownhard it is to take really cool snaps of nighttime events.
ReplyDeleteKeep on truckin.
Great job on this photo! Any night time photo is hard for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photograph. Don't give up -- you'll soon get the timing right and capture many more gorgeous shots.
ReplyDeleteCarlsberg uses elephants because one of the beer is called elephant beer with the design on it.
ReplyDeletePretty!! At my first attempt at fireworks photos I took about 120 pictures and had about 10 turn out okay.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation! It is not easy to take a photo of fireworks!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot color blue and orange at the same time
ReplyDeleteWow! Fantastic! It looks like a giant sunflower...Ciao. Antonella
ReplyDeleteWell, hooray for digital cameras - you only need one good picture, and can delete the rest! My firework photos are usually of smoke too but just occasionally I get lucky. This one is brilliant though - what fantastic bright colours!
ReplyDeleteOh great shot, Hilda, and your first too. I'm absolutely crazy about fireworks, just love them. My dogs are too but not in the same way!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot. Can't wait to see your second attempt.
ReplyDeleteThis is seriously a good shot!
ReplyDeleteI know the shutter leg in pocket (non-DSLR) cameras makes it difficult to capture this kind of scene. COnsidering this, it's perfect shot, Hilda.
ReplyDeleteFireworks always fascinate me, and the patterns here are beautiful.
It's a very good effort! It looks like a flower coming to life. I wonder when the homecoming is at DLSU...
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I've been in Manila since the 14th :D Enjoying it to the hilt. I love Manila, that's why I'm here twice a year!
well done - I've never had much success with this kind of shot either.
ReplyDeleteYou did it, Hilda! It looks awesome!
ReplyDeletei should give you an applause here. not bad for a first timer. maybe what you also need is a tripod.
ReplyDeleteLooks a bit like the Big Bang to me (the Universe thing). :-) Very nice shot actually!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Hilda. I've never had much success with fireworks. This is such an interesting photograph - the design and the colours.
ReplyDeleteNice job! It's not easy photographing fireworks!
