First time lucky

The very first photograph of my very first attempt to take pictures of fireworks. It was the only decent shot too. I couldn't quite get the timing right between the 'boom' and the click of the shutter so many of the photos were just of smoke. Ah well. I hope I'll have other opportunities to try again. This was part of the fireworks that greeted alumni of the Ateneo de Manila University during the 2008 Grand Alumni Homecoming.

  4. Carlsberg uses elephants because one of the beer is called elephant beer with the design on it.

  9. Well, hooray for digital cameras - you only need one good picture, and can delete the rest! My firework photos are usually of smoke too but just occasionally I get lucky. This one is brilliant though - what fantastic bright colours!

  12. I know the shutter leg in pocket (non-DSLR) cameras makes it difficult to capture this kind of scene. COnsidering this, it's perfect shot, Hilda.

Fireworks always fascinate me, and the patterns here are beautiful.

And yes, I've been in Manila since the 14th :D Enjoying it to the hilt. I love Manila, that's why I'm here twice a year!
