Two of the three condominium towers of The Columns Ayala, located at another corner of Ayala and Gil Puyat Avenues in Makati City, right across the RCBC Plaza. Like many of the newer office and condominium towers being built in Manila nowadays, the street level spaces of The Columns are cafés and restaurants open to the public. Behind the metal screen with the bamboo design are the parking levels for the towers' residents.
I wouldn't say we have exactly the same buildings in Vancouver but these could be transplanted here and no one would think twice about it. I've noticed in the past few years that some colour is finally being added to our condo towers. For years they were basic sea green glass and steel or some shade of beige.
ReplyDeleteThanks for looking in on my blog. Love this picture and enjoyed the others as well. I was in Manila over 20 years ago. Things have changed much.
ReplyDeleteOh what a a sight, Hilda! I don't think I could venture up there. I suffer from vertigo and that would be the end for me!!! Have a nice Sunday. Ciao. Antonella

ReplyDeletealthough i wouldnt want to be living or working in such a building, they are awesome to look at. do people live in these blocks, or are they just offices?
ReplyDeleteThats a nice looking building. I like the bamboo design on the screen. Adds some interest to the design.
ReplyDeleteWow, thats a big building! It's a bit sterile looking for my personal preference but I do admire the skill and talent that goes into building them.
ReplyDeleteI have heard that Makati is modern and neat place.
ReplyDeleteThat building has nice structure.
