Today all over Metro Manila, malls competed for their share of consumer pesos by hosting Easter programs and games for children. For such-and-such amount spent in the mall, children can participate in arts and crafts, get their face painted, join games and go Easter egg hunting 'for free.' We have turned into such a mall culture, it's scary. The kids seemed to have a lot of fun though, and I liked The Podium mall's centerpiece in the game area: a fountain filled with brightly colored plastic Easter eggs. We were at The Podium to have lunch with my husband's family at
Banana Leaf Curry House because today also happens to be my mother-in-law's birthday.
Happy Easter, everyone!
Dear Hilda,
ReplyDeleteYour post today is full of happiness!
Beautiful!
God bless you
Léia
Happy Easter to you too, Hilda!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter Hilda!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :)
~I've updated the building info.
Nice Easter post.
ReplyDeleteI was interested to read your comment on Jarart's Prescott Area (Arizona) Daily Photo site that ou had read about but had not seen a robin. Robins are such a fixtur of culture in the USA that I was not aware that they were not all over the world.
I have left a comment for Jarart to request thae she or someone photograph a robin's egg for you. They would be perfect for Easter, as they can be the color of the blue background in your fountain today, with little spots.
Sounds like fun for the kiddos. Hope you have a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good time for all. Have a very blessed and happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteA perfect picture for today.
ReplyDeleteWHat a happy, happy photograph. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Easter, Hilda!
What a beautiful display. I hope you had a very happy and blessed Easter.
ReplyDeleteNice :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your family!
Easter happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you too! This is a good way to brighten up the Mall for Easter.
ReplyDeleteEaster is such a colorful holiday, it's easy to turn it into a kidfest. Then again, contemplating Christ on the cross is difficult enough for adults, maybe these activities dispell some of the gloomier aspects for children until they can deal with it.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this one! Happy Easter!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Easter Eggs were filled with chocolate goodies for the kids.
ReplyDeleteA fountain of youth would have to be filled with chocolate to be real, at least in my imagination.
perfect title for this post. the culture of egg hunting during easter has indeed been a craze like christmas' gift giving. i hope that they dont forget the very value of easter.
ReplyDeleteSuch a colourful photograph!
ReplyDeleteIn New Zealand, shops are closed on Easter Sunday. Quite amazing in this day and age. No trading is allowed, although there are moves afoot to have this changed.
I hope you had a Happy Easter and your mother in law had a great birthday.
ReplyDeleteFantastic colors and point of view Hilda. Around her, if you pull an SLR out and start taking pics in the mall the security people show up and ask you to stop!
ReplyDeleteDan:
ReplyDeleteJust let them try stopping the parents! :D
Hope you had a happy Easter, Hilda. What a colourful choice for the day!
ReplyDeleteHilda!
ReplyDeletehow ironic that your motherinlaw's birthday is Easter Sunday....so is it my MIL! She turned 89 on Easter Sunday and is still a "traveling woman". I love your jelly beans! (thanks for asking about the lack of posts! I was having computer issues and was off of work all last week because of it being Holy Week.....erggg!!! so frustrating! Especially since I live with an IT guy(my son)!!!) Happy belated Easter to you and yours!
