No. 1 Ayala Avenue

Just a block away from yesterday's Ayala Station is the InterContinental Manila, more popularly known here as the InterCon. It is one of several hotels in the Ayala Commercial Center. The hotel was designed in 1969 by Philippine National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin (1928–1994). Despite its age, or maybe because of it, the InterCon is still considered one of the best hotels in Metro Manila. Its Suriya Spa and Prince Albert Rotisserie, a French fine dining restaurant which has won numerous awards, are well-known and some of my friends swear that the cheesecake at its Jeepney Deli Shop is the best in town.

You can tell it was built in the 60's. As far as the cheesecake, can it compare to the Cheesecake Factory here in the States? I wonder.

That could be the UK. It is such a familiar looking building like many concrete blocks around the world. World famous wine ans cheesecake though is a different matter. That I would like to try.

It's very nice Hilda. I wouldn't mind trying some of that cheesecake right about now!

A rather boxy looking place, but no doubt all the flare is inside. That cheesecake sounds enticing. I assume its the dense heavy type that sticks to the roof of your mouth, mmmhh.

You mean that even with the testimony of your friends, you haven't tried the cheesecake?

Yikes!

You and hubby should probably take 2-3 day vacation there - you know, check it out so you could relate in more detail how great a place it really is!

Ok?

I'd have to taste the cheesecake MYSELF to believe them! Step aside please, let the cheesecake expert through ...

You know, because of when it was built it doesn't have the style that the newer buildings have, BUT if it has good cheesecake I can overlook it. :)

impressionnant comme immeuble, en effet une architecture très 60/70.

That sure is a huge building! Can you tell I'm a country girl?

When a hotel is that large you know a lot of visitors frequent the city it's in. LOL

What are the views from the windows? Urban, water?

This is not the most attractive IC I've seen, but I bet it's nice on the inside.

As always, love your comments. Wouldn't have guessed this is a hotel. From the outside, reminds me of a government building.

I think you could find a building like this about everywhere in the world. This at least has some trees around, some fine shops and restaurants.
