Waiting to leave

Back in November, I mentioned in a post about its arrivals waiting area that only passengers are allowed inside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). This means that everyone with international flights have to show their tickets and passports before they can even enter the building. Despite having a separate entrance for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), on very busy days the line of passengers snaking its way towards the entrance can be so long it spills over onto the driveway.

    It's the same at New Delhi International Airport, only people with tickets can enter the building, but not to early! 90 minutes before the flight. If you try to enter earlier, the guards and police checking you become extremely suspicious, and you might actually lose your flight, after being put to the question. The guards? They don't care.

    They're waiting patiently in line, this could never happen here: people will try to jump and cut the line with wild and imaginative excuses...

    Looks familiar! Although I think most of our lines are inside - but not always!

    Sometimes a person can't help but wonder if traveling is worth the hassle these days.

    Hilda, your photo reminds me of the long lines at international airports and it is so weary to look at. Every time I go and trek to some wonderful place in the world, I have to get my patience and stamina ready for the long lines and bureaucracy. Thanks for the reminder! I long for efficiency at the airport.

    No wonder so many airlines are in trouble financially. Standing in line is never fun and in bad weather outside it would be even less so.

    From the comments on this post we can tell that the long lines at airports are common everywhere! It's so annoying to stay in such a line, specially if the due time for departure is getting tight!

    I definitely do not like lines, but this is certainly an interesting picture. I wonder if anyone has missed a flight because of the long lines?
