Would you believe hundreds of 16 to 18 year old first year college students orderly and patiently lined up to watch a ballet? By the time Ballet Manila's performance started in the Aliw Theater, there were about a thousand of them. And even more astounding, they actually enjoyed it! Tomorrow, I'll show you why.
I went to the ballet a few years ago, I wasn't really looking forward to it, but it was fantastic!
ReplyDeletedi ko nabalitaan tong performance na to a. curious naman ako bigla. hehe
ReplyDeleteNo, I can't believe that, Hilda! You've got to be kidding! No? Well, I see a long orderly line...are you sure that isn't for the latest Brad Pitt movie? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll anxiously await your explanation!
Hmmmmmnnn it sounds strange that freshmen college students are interested in ballet.....I'll be back tomorrow but let me guess...*think...think*,scratches my head**
ReplyDeleteOK, i'll be back tomorrow.
Very interesting, do tell us more so as to get some idea of where these kids are at!
ReplyDeleteA rare site to see orderly teenagers.
ReplyDeleteI do like your composition. There's something magnetic about that - too!
ReplyDeleteMust of been some show :D
ReplyDeletecan't wait.
ReplyDeletewhat a commendable appreciation for the art. we don't have a good ballet group here.
ReplyDeletewow! you wont believe, havent watch ballet shows yet in my life. hahaha...
ReplyDelete«Louis» is looking forward to tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteHmm, not a typical ballet going crowd! I wonder why they were there ....
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to know why. Is it a ballet version of Ibon Adarna something?! :D
ReplyDeleteI meant Alamat-something. Hahaha.. obviously I haven't heard of Google before. Nice to be back..
ReplyDeleteMaybe they were being paid large sums of money to go? Oh, I don't know. I guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow's post.
ReplyDeleteImpressionnante cette longue foule ;))
ReplyDeleteCollege students lining up for a ballet performance... now I am curious to know why?
ReplyDeleteMost of the college students here in Delhi would stay away from anything that is not pop or rock (in that order)
Really heart-warming.
ReplyDeleteI always remember my daughter, just a few years old, at her first ballet in Tel Aviv. She gazed at the line of dancers in classic tutu in soft lighting, moving so gracefully, and whispered, "Are they real? Do they have bones?!" :)
Hmmmm.....waiting for the answer. MB
ReplyDeleteA great angle and perspective! Yes, I believe that youngsters of this age will line up to see a ballet. Kids often display VERY good taste!!
ReplyDeleteThat is encouraging to see no matter what the reason is. Its a wonderful experience for all of them.
ReplyDeleteIt's really wonderful see young people going for culture and art , specially ballet!
ReplyDeleteLéia :)
That would never happen here.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to discover the secret to getting college freshmen to enjoy ballet.
ReplyDeleteI guess they got a discounted or free entrance. Or there is someone famous making a guest appearance. I would have been there lined up regardless!
ReplyDeleteIf this had happened in Norway, they would probably have been paid for turning up.( half joke.) Or it would have been free. To watch a ballet costs quite a bit of money.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I am impressed.
I look forward to see tomorrows photo.
Well, you never know... I remember going to the English National Opera for Madame Butterfly, and the Opera was full of teens in absolute awe. For it was truly fantastic. So was probably this ballet.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite incredible. You have to explain this a little better...
ReplyDeleteHard to believe.
