SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City is currently the Philippines' second and the world's fourth largest shopping mall, with a floor area of 390,000 square meters (4.2 million square feet) in 42 hectares of land reclaimed from
Manila Bay. Tonight, this whole area will be plunged in darkness, at least for an hour, for
Earth Hour 2010.

What do you think of the campaign?
To me, every hour can be Earth Hour.
We don't really have to wait until the actual day and then being told or reminded that we have to observe such "custom".
Just my 2p.
It's amazing that the entire mall will go dark. I doubt that an American mall would agree to do that.
Great night shot. I think any angle that gets people thinking about the environment and living things is a good idea. We all have to be reminded sometimes.
A beautiful night reflection shot. I think it's great that the mall will go dark for Earth Hour. Any help we can give our environment is a good thing.
Congratulations Hilda, this is a very nice night photography. Clear and smooth reflections!
A very beautiful photography indeed. Am sure that there will be much energy saved.
Please have a wonderful weekend.
my first entry is up... nice site maam
What a gorgeous photo! I'll bet it would be scary out there when all the lights go out. We traveled in Mexico one time and what I remember most is the absolute darkness...no lights of any kind. Actually, it was quite frightening.
I hope it's a clear night. The stars should look fantastic! Beautiful relective shot.
Hilda great nighttime shot, the reflections look nice
Not sure about the Earth hour thing, I reckon its going to take a lot more than that!
Yes we can all participate! Only for an hour.
Great one Hilda.
Thanks for the reminder, Hilda.
The city looks beautiful at night with all the wonderful bright lights.
I appreciate the idea, but isn't this somewhat dangerous?
A very nice night photo with as fine reflection as an extra.
beautiful nighttime photo!
Beautiful night scene and the reflection is wonderful. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for reminding me Hilda!
I love to shut everything off for an hour. A self imposed blackout is so much better than a real one.
Cool shot Hilda.
: )
& Happy Earth hour too.
Gorgeous reflections and great night shot Hilda.
It is a nice gesture and a great effort for such a huge company, even if it is just for an hour.
Very impressive, both your photo and Manila's participation in Earth Hour.
Earth Hour - what an awesome idea! Will you have candles next to your computer?
Most municipalities in Sweden will join in. Last year it was only a handfull, but Haninge was on of them.
Great photo here.
Thanks for reminding me. I've just signed up. Rather late than never. Hugs. Ciao. A.
Very cool night shot. And thanks for your kind words on Brattleboro about my blog. Both me and the missus met up with Mr. and Mrs. Brattcat at the Boston Public Library today and had a wonderful time.
Beautiful shot with gorgeous reflections!
That's a really cool picture. I've always liked the look of city lights glowing in the darkness. That is an amazingly large mall. I can appreciate the size of it because in California I lived near South Coast Plaza, the third largest mall in the U.S. and now I live pretty close to the largest mall by square foot in the U.S. They are both huge but well over a million square feet smaller than this mall. I never would have guest that two of the world's largest malls are in the Philippines.
Hi there..neat night life shot. I wonder if our volcano would behave itself for an hour? Hmm..you have one too huh?
Anyway, hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Lovely night shot and reflections!
What a huge mall. I can only imagine the type and diversity of merchants.
Err we turned off the lights in our house but not everyone was totally sold on the idea. I'm just hoping that this gimmick won't actually be more reason for people to get out of doing the arguably more real work of conserving energy DAILY.
last year i went to moa to participate, this year we participated somewhere else.
thank you to all those who participated.
This is an amazing night shot, Hilda! And isn't it great to have so many countries responding to the Earth Hour? I know it's just symbolic but that's a start, I hope...
This is a beautiful reflection shot. I can't believe that this is one mall! My goodness, it's huge. I bet it was something to see when this was plunged into darkness. Kathy
beautiful city of lights. It will be interesting if it was completely dark for one hour.
