Walking around the perimeter of Timberland Sports and Nature Club (see yesterday's post), an office mate pointed out these trees on the slope of the next hill. Since it is the middle of summer in the Philippines, most of our grasses and plants are brown, pale, thin, dry or downright bald, so these trees are striking for their lush, bright green leaves. They were too far to identify with any certainty, but another office mate said that they looked like broccoli and thus were they christened.
Kidding aside, my guess is that they're mango trees.
Nah...I'm sure they are Philippine Broccoli trees! If not, they should be. Rather striking on that otherwise dull-brown hillside!
ReplyDeleteNice shot! I have no idea what kind of trees that are xD
ReplyDeleteWhatever they are, they certainly stand out in the landscape.
ReplyDeleteKnock. Knock. Frank at Tampa Daily visiting the delicious world of Manila.
ReplyDeleteThey are most defintely HUGE broccoli plants just waiting for the hungry masses.
Love your blog and always will.
Miss you Hilda!!
Tampa is gorgeous but I'm never here anymore. The hours are beyond long. Two hours of commute each day and 50+ hours at the office...I miss my blog world.
What a promissing colour that is. Being in Germany for a few days allowed to "enjoy" rain, yet back in Athens, it did not rain for nearly two months.
ReplyDeletePlease have a wonderful Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteAh yes, my daughter calls broccoli "trees."
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't recognize a mango tree, but I think broccoli tree is entirely appropriate.
