Steel tower

This is the bell tower of the Santa Maria della Strada (Our Lady of the Way) parish church in Quezon City, still draped in its Easter robes. I remember how, when it was first unveiled, reactions to its design were varied, to put it mildly.

  1. «Louis» can see why it would be controversial - but he (who usually hates modern "architecture") rather likes this.

  2. It looks to me somehow "complete, closed in itself", just like faith has to be. Like it. Please have a wonderful Sunday.

  11. Hmm..it's different. Not something I would associate with a church, but I think I like it.

  12. This looks very unique. I don't think I've seen a bell tower like it before. I'd like to photogrph it myself.

  13. That is one of the most unusual bell towers I have ever seen, but I must admit that I rather like it.

  15. "To put it mildly"... :) Well, those audacious architectural things always bring up mixed reactions. And some time later they tend to become landmarks.
    God bless you!

  17. Yes, and if I have my facts straight, the French didn't like the Eiffel Tower when it was first built in Paris, non?
