To read or to relax

Just when most of the northern hemisphere starts its summer break, students in the Philippines go back to school. Our summer months are April and May, and the school year begins in June and ends in March. Which means that the Rizal Library of the Ateneo de Manila University is full of students again. Though whether they're inside to do research or outside hanging out at the water feature, is another question altogether.

  1. Such an interesting angle. I particularly like the right side of this image with the people and walkway.

  2. Yesterday you were looking up. Today you are looking down. I am getting as dizzy as when I was looking at Jilly's photos today from Menton.

  3. I like the high angle and the composition of this photo. I didn't know your school year started in June. Our students are having a long summer break now (from June and July).

  10. I agree - an interesting bird's eye view. By coincidence I took one today, but not from this kind of height. Coming soon on JorvikDP.

BTW, if you have time to read this far, variants on "mother":
mam, mum, mom, mammy, mummy, mommy, ma, mama, mater (Latin, for the old school). "Me (my) mother" is quite common in Yorkshire too.

  11. Love the perspective on this photo, Hilda. And the contrast and composition are brilliant.

Thanks for the positive comment about "Love is All Around." I work so hard to made good posts and sometimes it seems as if nobody is looking. A supportive comment from time to time makes blogging all worthwhile!

  14. Great composition! And it probably would be a good idea to have "summer" in April and May here and let the kids attend air-conditioned schools in the heat of June, July and August!
