Persia Grill is one of many restaurants on the Sky Garden of SM City North EDSA mall. I must say that my husband and I weren't impressed with the food we ordered, but I do like their sign and lanterns. If someone can tell me what this creature is supposed to be, I'd really appreciate it.

At first glance it appears to be some sort of phoenix, but what do I know.
Hope you were able to solve all your work problems. Re your comments about Nehi soda, the company eventually came Royal Crown Cola, a name you might be more familiar with.
Hilda, thanks always for your kind comments. Thank you also for heads up on Sucker Punched. I'd never even heard of it but will be looking for it now.
I like the Persian lanterns! I wonder about the other decor inside - persian rugs, huge coffee pots, etc?
Yes, «Louis» saw on the World News Roundup that you had been arrested for trying to "borrow" the lanterns there...
;-D
Wonderful signage. Is the food good?
une tres belle enseigne. bonne question de Randy, on mange bien ?
A really strange name (and sign), but I like the lights inside!
Persia grill sound a bit bizzare to me, but the sign s terrific! Asyrian flying cook maybe;D
I love the lanterns too!
Oh I knew this, but can't remember it now. Something about a Persian religious minority. There are very similar signs in Bombay. Will ask Mandy, she will know this. Will come back to you on this.
OK, didn't have to ask Mandy, remembered it. The symbol is Faravahar, he is a zoroastrian guardian spirit. One of the main symbols in the zoroastrian, or Ahura Mazda, religion. Lots of zoroastrians in Bombay!
No idea but it does look a bit persian...especially the beard!
Great picture, those lanterns are adorable and different!I'm curious about this kind of food,I've never tried Persia meals.
hugs

it does look hideous. ^0^
there's also a new resto called Arya, don;t know if you've heard of it.
I went to a resto this weekend where the food was also not that great. And it made me sick later in the evening. :(
This place does have a nice sign though. Not sure what it is. But it's neat!
That is an interesting sign, and the lighting in the restaurant looks very nice. It's too bad the food didn't meet expectations.
A mythical man? Don't know. Sorry you weren't able to join your husband in London.
Rob gave you the answer.
Strange, I just now came from Mumbai Daily where that Zoroastrian symbol was decorating the whole length of a tall building:

indeed!
That is cool sign. I had Persian food twice and it was pretty good but expensive.
I love Persian food... too bad you weren't impressed. Interesting to read the comments here.
