I was so surprised to see that the playground in the
Rizal Park that we used to frequent on weekends when we were kids is still there, and with the same structures too. This playhouse was one of my favorites.
There was an old woman who lived in a shoe.
She had so many children, she didn't know what to do;
She gave them some broth without any bread;
Then whipped them all soundly and put them to bed.

We have one too! In Children's Fairyland developed (I think) in the 50s.
How eyecatching is this! I dont' think I've been to this part of the park - if I have I don't remember seeing this. Thanks. I would love to have my picture taken there :)
That is a very cute shoe house! And when young, I thought that was a fine poem, though I felt sorry for the old woman and the kids.
I can see why you liked to play in the shoe, and it's wonderful that kids today also can share in that experience.

I often remember my childhood and the games we've played. It was a great time!
And the little boy running adds so much to the picture of your childhood.
Did is seem so much smaller than before? I went to my grade school a couple years back and I could swear everything had shrunk, including my teacher ;-D
This nursery rhyme always entranced me as a child and I seem to remember having a drawing of a shoe with an old lady and all those children. Loved it. This is such a happy memory.

I don't think the nursery rhyme goes very well in today's world. But I love that big shoe. Looks like a kid's paradise!
How neat that the old woman's shoe is still in the park as you remembered it. It looks as if it has received good care through the years.
