The Quirino Grandstand at the
Rizal Park is traditionally where the presidents of the Philippines take their oath of office and deliver their first address to the nation. It is named after our 6th president,
Elpidio Quirino, who served from 1948 to 1953. With a 10-hectare grassy field in front of it, the Quirino Grandstand has been the venue of many important cultural, religious and political events.
And That's My World!
What a beautiful tree! It looks so big and fluffy.
ReplyDeleteThe tree just dominates the scene. Such a open place for an investiture.
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to live in a place where the weather is often nice enough to hold many cultural, religious and political events. That tree is big enough to provide lots of shade.
ReplyDeleteit really looks huge! You reminded me of your "Cloudzilla" post :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you took it from this angle. I can't remember seeing this part of the grandstand. Thanks.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but I don't know. I'm absolutely useless with plant identification!
With its vast and open space, it could well accommodate lots of spectators!
ReplyDeleteHi Hilda,
ReplyDeleteI'm back again to give you a link to a video that explains the cranberry harvest. :) The cranberries grow at the bottom of the bog and are being scooped up by the machine.
