Child King

The Feast of the Child Jesus occurs on the third Sunday of January but so many Filipinos have a devotion to the Santo Niño that January effectively has become his month. Three of the four biggest and most well-known festivals in the Philippines during January are dedicated to the Sto. Niño. He also has his own chapel in the Manila Cathedral.

Wish I knew the answer to your question, but I forgot to take notes when we were walking around the cathedral. Sorry. Couldn't even go in to take a front-on shot because the gates of all the side chapels were locked.

  11. This looks like a beautiful chapel. The statue is wonderful, but I really like the mosaic behind the statue.

  13. The lighting here is just right, Hilda. Nice photo. I would have liked to go out to see/photograph some of these festivals... but if I'm not on the road, I am buried under work these days. You know how it is! :-) I did spend the day in Quiapo for Black Nazarene... that was fascinating.
