The Feast of the Child Jesus occurs on the third Sunday of January but so many Filipinos have a devotion to the Santo Niño that January effectively has become his month. Three of the four biggest and most well-known festivals in the Philippines during January are dedicated to the Sto. Niño. He also has his own chapel in the Manila Cathedral.
So handsome standing there! January must be a busy month for you then. Great photo :-D

ReplyDeleteWish I knew the answer to your question, but I forgot to take notes when we were walking around the cathedral. Sorry. Couldn't even go in to take a front-on shot because the gates of all the side chapels were locked.
Pretty capture -- like the angle.
ReplyDeleteSomething of an extended Feast of the Epiphany, it would seem. Very interesting, Hilda.
ReplyDeleteI would love visiting this Cathedral!
ReplyDeleteThe image is beautiful, it's such an important moment, we need to keep His love always inside our hearts!

ReplyDeleteIt is quite lovely Hilda!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a beautiful chapel. The statue is wonderful, but I really like the mosaic behind the statue.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I hadn't realized the importance of the child.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo!
The lighting here is just right, Hilda. Nice photo. I would have liked to go out to see/photograph some of these festivals... but if I'm not on the road, I am buried under work these days. You know how it is! :-) I did spend the day in Quiapo for Black Nazarene... that was fascinating.
