Kontra-GaPi, short for Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Contemporary Filipino Gamelan), is the University of the Philippines' resident ethnic music and dance ensemble. I am always happy to see young ones taking an interest in preserving our cultural heritage, whatever the form and whatever the influence. Gamelan music also happens to be one of the few musical genres that will get me running out of my office no matter how busy I am.

I would love to hear this group!!
Lucky you!
which tribal music do they represent? i cannot tell by the costume they wear.
I agree about the importance of preserving a cultural heritage. Know nothing, though, of Gamelan music, but if it gets you moving, it must be good! ;-)
I've never heard of this type of music - would love to hear it! Nice to see the guy on the right there too, even though he looks ready to rap!
I totally agree, let's save our heritage less it get's forgotten or even lost.
