Countdown

small bursts of fireworks over Pasig City
Fireworks and firecrackers are not illegal in the Philippines, so anyone who cares to and who can afford them can set them off to celebrate the coming of the new year. Small bursts of fireworks were already going off all over Pasig City, and the rest of Metro Manila, half an hour before midnight on New Year's Eve.

I just did the math and realised that I watched around 130 000 SEK exploding in the sky in Tungelsta during New years Eve. Happy New year!

Happy New Year to you and yours! I wish for a grand fireworks display in the Philippines for year 2013. No more firecrackers just one fireworks set in one of iconic places in Manila.

A gorgeous photo, Hilda! You do night shots so well.

I don't much like fireworks except in a controlled venue. When we lived in a house on the east side of the city our neighbor kids would send off rockets into the sky every New Year's and July 4th. I was always fearful they would land on the roof and start a fire.
