THEME DAY: ANIMALS • Even when fully mature, the little brown horses of our
kalesas, which are still used as public transportation in some parts of Manila, rarely grow taller than the average Filipino male (around 5'4" or 163 cm). This patient beast, and his colorful burden, was waiting for commuters in front of the
Binondo Church.
Kahol! Miaow! Kokak! Taktalaok!

Top shot.
Na-miss ko tuloy bigla ang pinas...thanks Ms. Hilda.
Such an attractive scene and the horse looks in good condition too. Good to see.
I remember using kalesas to get around as a child when we lived in Pampanga. Cheap, and kind of fun to go around in a horse-drawn carriage!
The horse is a beauty and the little carriage is very colorful and unusual looking. Everything combined makes for a very lovely and interesting photo.
Such a beautiful worker bee. Most excellent theme day post.
Splendid photo for theme day!
What a sturdy and nice-looking little horse!
Hilda, we have to get you over here to get to know donkeys. You are missing something great.

Lovely caleche, Hilda!
