CITY DAILY PHOTO THEME DAY: MY STREET • This used to be quite a lovely clapboard house when I was younger. Then the original owners immigrated to the U.S. and the couple who bought it went into politics. That meant bodyguards and more rooms to accommodate them, so they built over the garage, and this was the result. The family has since moved to a more upscale, gated neighborhood where, last time I saw it, their new fortress is painted these same colors.
It's a shame, but you can see the structure was once lovely. Enjoyed your choice for theme day! (And seeing this corner of the world.)
ReplyDeleteThey are bright, cheerful colours.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments, an interesting story, sounds a bit scary.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad story, at least for the house and the neighborhood...
ReplyDeleteAnd the sad part is that even with increased security measures, it is still easy enough to destroy a house or its inhabitants.
ReplyDeletePolitics ruins everything, including fine garage. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteBirdman beat me to it! Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteWhere is the mango fruit? - my street is here.
ReplyDeletehaha at what birdman said...i think he is correct!

I always learn something when I visit your blog. You are amazing!
ReplyDeleteAs Kate said, lovely cheerful colors.
ReplyDeleteIt now looks so closed and the colors are interesting...
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how the things we admire in childhood don't look as good when we're adults. I like the bright yellow of this house... but that is about all! :)
ReplyDeleteIt must be their favourite colour ... me, I prefer my mango in a smoothie!!
