Ortigas Center skyline

I've finally decided to join Scenic Sunday, a photo meme of scenery, and this is my first entry for it. Of course, this being Metro Manila, I'm going to end up posting mostly urbanscapes. Like this one of the Ortigas Center skyline. Like the mall scene I posted last November, I took this from the 7th level of Shangri-La Plaza mall's carpark building. The low, wide building is SM Megamall and to its right is the capsule-shaped Edsa Shangri-La hotel with its roofdeck tennis courts.

Ortigas Center skyline with SM Megamall and Edsa Shangri-la hotel in the foreground

Urban or rural, natural or man-made, take a sightseeing tour of our world's diverse scenery!

wow, i like this shot. i didn't know edsa shang has tennis courts on that roof deck. pero parang mainit, diba? i hope they transform the other portion of that deck to landscaped gardens. anyway, uso naman yun ngayon plus it would be an added attraction to their hotel...:)

What a wonderful surprise! I knew it was going to be a beautiful picture as soon as I knew it was from Manila.

What I wasn't expecting to see was a picture of a city. Thanks so much for this.

I usually only get to see beautiful landscapes from your country.

You did a fantastic job capturing this shot.

Thanks for taking the time so that we all get to enjoy it.

Your Manila city skyline is very impressive and the city has come a long way since 1953 and 1954. Wow. Impressive.

I just joined today too! I like your shot. Mine will be the opposite. I live in a little town in Paraguay and I will be showing mostly rural areas....

I usually like skylines but this praticularly impressive. Like the idea of playing tennis on a rooftop but where get the lost tennis balls? Ciao. A.

Marc:
It is! But it's not the biggest in the metro anymore.

Abe:
I've seen pictures from the 50s — I think I like it better then.

PJ:
Metro Manila is made up of 17 cities and latest estimates say it has 12 million people. Does that make for a megalopolis? And yes, been living here my entire life, but in a relatively quiet part of it.

Antonella:
We're wondering the same thing! :D

Crisp and clear and well-composed, Hilda. A very nice shot and appropriate one for your first participation in the Scenic Sunday.
