Heirlooms

Adarna Food and Culture is a restaurant that specializes in Filipino historical, regional and heirloom recipes. It is located in a refurbished Spanish-style house along Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City and the interior is full of beautiful heirloom furniture and decor. It's like having dinner in a mestiza grandmother's house. The food is not as good as Crisostomo's but neither is it as expensive, and when it comes to ambience, Adarna is definitely much more wonderful.

    The foliage of the decoration, wood I suppose, is stunning. The ambience seems just perfect to me.

    After increasing the size of the picture I just had a wonderful surprise, every detail carved into the wood is so perfect and charming.All places that you like to go are so elegant my friend! Very good taste, congratulations!

    btw, about your comment, unfortunately I know nothing about that warrior.It stands just in front of the Town Hall, it's a female sculpture but I could find the story about.Please forgive me, I just got a simple map at the tram station in that day.

    Wow, glorious! I can hardly wait for the review of the food :-) Here, there is very little in the way of heirloom food. Well, maybe I take that back. Every nationality that came here brought some heirloom recipes with it. About the only heirloom food that might be considered American is the Thanksgiving feast, and that isn't what the Pilgrims ate!

    love that woodword! Hilda, a dive bar is kind of a crummy joint. A bar with no pretense to high falutin living or big spenders. Not sure why they call them "Dive Bars"

    You have a real talent for composing interior shots - especially of restaurants. In fact, I'm beginning to think you spend much of your time in restaurants! ;-))

    I always love these compositions of yours which capture the essence and the flavor of the place but leave hints of much more to come...
