Magandang umaga!

Good morning! Pinoy breakfast favorites: tapa (dried or cured beef), tocino (cured pork) and longganisa (sausage, chicken in this case). With garlic rice and eggs (I like mine scrambled). Everything fried. Not the healthiest breakfast, I know, but oh so yummy! Don't forget the vinegar, garlic and siling labuyo (bird's eye chili) dipping sauce.

  1. That is very different from my breakfast. Looks like you could survive the whole day after eating this!

  2. Looks like a heavy breakfast which will last the whole day. In Malaysia, the fave drink to go with it will be teh tarik or 'pulled tea' but my fave drink for breakfast is 'kopi O kosong' meaning black coffee without sugar or milk.

  9. Gosh, it looks yummy indeed! We still use the same words in Spain today, you can get tocino and longganisa everywhere.
But I really wonder about the life expectancy on a diet like this...

  16. I have to admit this "heart attack on a plate" looks very good. Reminds me a little bit of what our Denny's restaurants call their "Grand Slam."

  18. A yummy breakfast! I love tapsilog (of course the tapa is veggie beef) with sunny side up egg.

Looking forward to the week ahead?

  19. Oh yum! One of my favorite things I remember eating in Manila is the garlic rice, because we don't regularly put garlic in our rice. Oops, my stomache just growled :D
