Urban tropics

You know you're in Metro Manila when you see coconut trees along the road swaying in the breeze under a bright blue summer sky filled with fluffy white clouds—beside utility poles with messy, tangled cables. Taken during an afternoon stroll around our neighborhood.

We seem to have the same ideas about visual pollution, Hilda. I love the way you've caught those frondy leaves swaying in the wind.

You are right - those hydro lines do look messy!!
But a great shot of the breeze in the fronds and wires.

c'est très exotique, dommage tous ces câbles électriques. Mais c'est le problème partout.

Love those coconut trees! Do the coconuts fall off on the ground?
Wires are everywhere. I don't notice them until I look at the pictures I've taken and then I see them.

Ok this is fantastic but my question is with those coconuts do they ever fall down on there own and hit anyone?

I would love to see a palm tree in person. Great shot.

Wonderful trees and sky! I guess the cables are messy, but necessary!

The tree on the right seems to be really full of coconuts. Don't walk right under them Hilda! :-)

They are very pretty Hilda! We have palm trees around here, but they seldom get that tall.

those trees compete with the electrical posts or maybe the other way around.

Interesting sky watch. I think they call these things Street Furniture. I call it unsightly! Great photo though :)

Beautiful! Coconut trees are beautiful when swayed gently by the winds especially at the beach..
