From Italy, by way of New York

The elaborate paper tole map of New York City and funky lighting fixture of Napoli Pizzeria Ristorante in The Block at SM City North (a mall). The World Trade Center towers are still there, but written underneath its name (which can't be seen here, sorry) is 9/11/2001.

I have just learned what a paper tole is and that to sell pizza in Manila you had to show Manhattan instead of the Vesuvio.
But, I must confess, New York pizza is so good!

Manila is such a multifaceted place. Thank you for sharing!

Regarding this post, the building-looking lights in the upper right-hand corner look very interesting. Perhaps you could post a picture of them.

Great composition! I like the skyscraper lamps.

A couple of days ago I've posted a photo of Manhattan with the Twin Towers on my travel blog; it is such a strange feeling looking at the picture now...

It's so beautiful! My daughter just returned from a trip to New York City. I haven't been back since the towers fell.

very interesting and now sort of a memorial. NIce angle and good eye for spotting this unique mural. I am glad you enjoyed the El Pedegral buildings and boulders on my site. The pastel colors are interesting. I will have more cactus and Chihuly coming up and a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West over the next few weeks. I hope you like the Wright series about his historic desert camp.

Have a wonderful Easter, Hilda!

I had not noticed the skyscraper lampshades until JM's comment. I guess it makes sense to sell Pizza in Manila with a mural from New York. New Yorkers are proud of their pizza. There is a chain of New York pizza places in the Phoenix area. Of course, New Yorkers are proud of everything about New York.

In our beach town in Costa Rica, we even have a condo building that is marketing itself as being "New York Style on a Costa Rican Beach."

Lovely map/mural and I like your title today. NYC is one of my favourite places, such energy and soooo much to see!

No country or society can escape U.S. influence of some kind. I love the reflecting colours - green, blue and red.

I have to say on our visit to NYC last year, we had possibly the worst pizza we have ever tasted. It was actually funny! A great trip, can't wait to get back there.

New York City is allways a great motive for a mural. I love NYC and if I live in Manila then I am a habitué in this Ristorante.

This is a beautiful mural, but I'm really intrigued by the lights. Manila is quite a city!

Boise Diva...the best NY pizza I've tasted were from the small mom & pop type shops. You know, the ones where you're kinda iffy about the hygiene but, nevertheless, the best tasting pizza ever.
