Something's missing

The gold-painted rattan Christmas trees and balls in yesterday's post were also The Podium's decorations inside the mall. Even with the addition of more gold-painted ornaments on the trees, however, the decorations hanging from the skylight of the atrium just doesn't strike me as being festive enough. I don't quite know why though. Some traditional green and red, perhaps? What do you think?

I agree, although these are lovely and unusual the lack of red and green touches does make it rather lass Christmassy.

I agree -- I would like to see some red and green to go along with the gold.

It is a bit of a poor show, could do with a few more.

I agree...nice to see them in gold, but what's the matter with a little red and green somewhere! As a photographer, I think you should complain. Photographers need color!

Agree with you and most others as well, that indeed colours like green or red would be nice.
Remember as well to make some stars while being in elementary school out of hay.
A wonderful weekend for you.

I think it's the minimalist trend, Hilda. Designers cut off colors and docorative ornaments. Don't you think they look more solemn that way?

I agree, more colors. Gold by itself just doesn't cut it. Nice place though.

Yes, bring back the red and green!

I agree, it just looks bland, or should I say commercial. Maybe they're having a monochrome Christmas... Some more colors would really help.

merry christmas Hilda! :) maybe they were going for the "classy" christmas theme. like you, it left me cold. more warm colors and the traditional colors of the holiday season! hehe

For me, it is totally the lack of color. The decorations look so cold.

I forget the name of the wonderful blog for "arabesque" but she showed some lights in Manila (parol?) that were so warm and colorful that I wanted to burst out in song!

Thanks for stopping by Greensboro Daily. You and cieldequimper have been on my bookmark bar since forever!

"Minimalist" doesn't do it for me for Christmas either!

I think the mall is just trying to be elegant but I would enjoy a little red and green as well.

Some red ribbon and some greenery added would make a big difference!

I agree. A little more jazzy and festive color is needed. These could be 'any day of the week' decorations.

The idea was good but with some colors it would be better!

Yes a little more color would do it and maybe some twinkling lights.

", well my friend, here is a small country , no much people in fact and it was a really cold day, I think all people were inside the mall, just the crazy Léia was walking around taking pictures for the blog!
