Framed

When I first visited the new Rizal Library at the Ateneo de Manila University, many of the small details were still unfinished. Take this raw concrete cylinder in one of the interior water features, for example. I'm wondering what it's supposed to be and hoping that it will be the base for another sculpture like Impy Pilapil's Wind and Soul. I also hope that they'll be done next time I visit and that I'll be allowed to take pictures again. And in case you haven't realized it yet, you're looking at this scene through a huge mirror hanging on the brick wall.

This looks like a person with a metal or concrete head in the water. Interesting sculpture.

If you hadn't told us, I would not have realized that I was looking at a mirror image. I, too, hope you will be able to photograph the result when this water feature is completed.

"water, a stump and a swimming pool" - that's what my 4 year old daughter saw while sitting on my lap helping me to comment on CDP blogs!

Such a peaceful reflection shot. Thanks for showing us the Ins-and-Outs of Ateneo. It is a beautiful University rich in culture and architecture.
P.S. My niece is enrolled in your Law School, she made it through her first sem, first year.
Enjoy your weekend!

I hope you let us know when they put something in there. By the way, that mirror shot was a good idea. Had me fooled, but then again it doesn't take much.
P.S. I did comment on your mammoth spider yesterday, but for some reason it didn't show up.

You've really captured a mega-reflection for the meme today, Hilda. And it makes you wonder. Way cool!

Nicely framed shot, Hilda. «Louis» likes the geometry of the background - the stairs and the landing, etc...
That caught his eye before the concrete in the fountain.

Wouldn't have known it was a mirror till you said something. Pretty cool shot!

An excellent reflection and a great image, I didn't realize it was a mirror until you told us. You purposely distracted us with that cylinder... Again, a wonderful picture!

I hope it's the base of a sculpture too. How interesting that a library has a water feature. It looks like it;s inside, but it probably isn;t, right. I would be afraid the moisture would damage the books.

At first sight , I had not seen the mirror! the reflection was so perfect!!I like this library, it must be a pleasure to be there!

Great reflection. That does look like the base of a sculpture in the water and I'm curious what it will look like. :)
