Patio on a ledge

When Shangri-La Plaza mall in Ortigas Center set up "The Ledge," a row of restaurants on its 6th level, they had to provide a place for people to smoke after their meal (with or without their Starbucks coffee). This outdoor ledge was bare concrete when it was first made available to customers, but it looks quite nice now with its painted floor and potted plants. Just don't go out there at noon in the middle of summer or in strong rains.

I suppose the plants are much needed for the oxygen, then!! :)

Looks to be pleasant outdoor space now. Nice reflection.

I think one of the reasons fewer people smoke these days is that it is too difficult. But I'll bet there are folks puffing away at noon on a hot summer's day or in the middle of a rainstorm!

Amazing how things change. Thirty years ago I sat in many meetings where the air was so thick with smoke you could barely see across the table. That same organization now bans all smoking in their buildings!

It would not be nice out their is everyone else was smoking either. Filthy habit.

But nice reflections on The Ledge.

I love the angle you've used on this.

For a certain amount of time public authority buildings are now as well free of smoke - yet Greece remains to be a country with the most smokers in Europe.
Please have a wonderful Saturday.

I love live/real plants in pots! It reminds me I need to get some new house plants!

For being a "smokers patio" this is really nice. I guess everyone gets treated well, even the puffers.

Pretty scene here but I imagine it looks quite different when the smokers are out there!

wow, I have never heard of a place being built so people could have a place to smoke! It seems like a good solution to segregate the smokers from the nonsmokers-how considerate.
Here in America, the smokers are left to fend for themselves. I am so not used to being around smokers that if I pass someone on the street who is smoking I find I need to hold my breath as I walk by them.

you captured a nice reflection here...like that open area.

I like the fact that even Tennessee now bans smoking in restaurants. But most of the places provided for smokers are not this nice.

Nice reflection. This looks like a nice open space, but I bet it is hot at midday with all that glass. Kathy

Hmmm, very interesting shot. I only see one ash tray. Smoking is a very bad habit to kick.

It looks like a good weather reflected on the glass window.

Enjoy your weekend, Hilda.
