THEME DAY: WAITING • Goodie bags filled with biscuits, candy, noodles, slippers (flip-flops) and a rubber ball waiting to be distributed to children who live in poor communities and whose homes were flooded because of the heavy rains of typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana) during the 2009 Lights for Hope Christmas outreach party.

It will be interesting to see how City Daily Photo bloggers interpret this month's theme. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants.

Great interpretation of the theme, Hilda. Are the bags 'waiting' for the children or will they be delivered to waiting children?

Interesting choice for theme day.

I'm sure the children were thrilled to receive them. There had to be many hands and hearts involved in making this event happen, just wonderful.

This is so original, Hilda, and just what I'd expect from the caring person you are. A lovely choice for today and I hope those bags gave pleasure to the children.

This is a very worthwhile cause and a superb choice for the theme this month. Across the globe, far too many people are waiting for relief from disasters or poverty that is not of their making. Some people wait for a generation, hoping that their children will have better opportunities.

The colour and quantity is attractive, Hilda as is that small spot of dappled light. The blue of the bags and the white of the printing is very effective.

A good idea for the children and an excellent choice for this Theme Day.

I should know better than to stay away from your blog for a few days. But, I'm glad to catch up on your fine recent posts.

We continue to pray for the victims. A friend of the monastery just returned from a month in the Philippines looking for a dear friend who has been missing. He didn't find him, but he hasn't lost hope since there are so many who were relocated.
