I have mentioned the Philippines' Spanish colonial past, right? Whatever Filipinos may think of those three centuries, it can't be denied that Spain shaped much of our current culture. And that includes our food. Paella, anyone?
For all the damage Spanish explorers did, some of their cultural leftovers weren't bad...witness this photo!
So glad you're having a good time and seeing some new and different things. One of these days you'll have to visit Florida (although there are many different Floridas--South Florida which is tropical or semi-tropical; central Florida where we have remnants of the tropic, but also lots of huge trees, forests and rolling hills; North Florida where the scenery changes to more resemble northern states; and then there's the Panhandle with its incredibly gorgeous white sand beaches).

Yum!! But only if it's sans chicken. I've never seen it with boiled eggs before either. Must be a Filipino influence!
The Philippine version looks just as appetising as the Spanish one

There is a Spanish restaurant, Iberia, on the San Francisco peninsula that is famous for its paella.
Jacob: By the time Hilda gets there, the beaches probably won't be white anymore though. :(
I'm so mad about this oil spill.
