The last days of summer

During the past two weeks, Manila's daytime weather has still been that of summer: hot. But it has also started becoming very humid, and late in the afternoon, dark clouds would gather, the wind would become a little cooler and sometimes, rain would fall in the early evening. I saw this young man flying a kite in the brown fields of the University of the Philippines as the sun was setting behind the evening's rain clouds. Pretty soon, the grass of the fields will be bright green again.

I like your cloudy sunset. I also like your shot of the sculpture from the previous day.

I do plan to make some blackberry jam if we get enough berries. We planted the bushes last year, so we may not have enough berries till next year.

Hilda, your weather is almost the same as mine here in South Florida. Maybe not as hot and humid until August.
Kite flying is so much fun, we see them flying along the beaches.

What a beautiful promise.

Over here it looks as if summer has started. Temperature reaching mid 30's C and from tomorrow on another dusk cloud from Africa will reach - and moscitos are surely up and hungry as well...
A wonderful Friday for you.

Pretty soon the clouds would break open and I hope the boy will find shelter before that.

Beautiful capture of the sunset scene. The young man enjoying the place all to himself, unmindful, perhaps of your camera.

BTW, thanks and appreciate your visit, well wishes and prayer.

The humid gave me the bad cold. I need more cool air, whew!

Very pretty scene, Hilda! I am glad I can see it through your lens without having to experience the humidity with the heat. I wilt, especially if it is not a dry heat. The rest of my family LOVES humid heat. Me, I wait for the sun to go down and the night to bring a bit of relief :-).

I don't usually add a comment this far down, but this is superb; tiny figure under a huge, dramatic sky. Great contrast in the scale.

It's beautiful! It's really good to know it's starting to rain in Manila. We were there last month and the grasses in our backyard were all dried up and brown. Hope it rains more, just enough to water the plants and trees, but not that many as to cause floods. :)

Have a great weekend!
