Everything has a price
ZeKaf opened in the basement of the new dormitories of the Ateneo de Manila University late last year. With flowers on the tables, warm light, earth colors and a photo mural in sepia tones, it looks pretty good for a school cafeteria. I'd call it a café rather than a cafeteria if it weren't for the fact that their food counter still looks like those found in any school cafeteria anywhere in the world. The food's good too but, compared to the other cafeterias on campus, their prices are higher and the serving sizes are smaller. I guess ambiance doesn't come cheap.

it's nice to have a nice setting to grab a bite to eat.
Does that mean that the cool kids prefer to eat and hang out there, too?
I might eat there once to check out the ambiance, but I'd probably eat regularly someplace else.

It's really unusual for a campus cafeteria. But it's worth to give it a shot.
It can't be a true college cafeteria unless it has jello.
And you even get flowers on the table. Student luxury!

That does look good for a school cafetaria! The fact that they have carpet is already one step above my college cafe :D
gives us more reason to stay there longer.

Actually, I love the earth tones, very soft lights.
If the portions are anything like what we get in the US, they can use some reduction.
This does look nice for a school cafeteria. Definitely not like anything we had at my school.

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, for me, food trumps atmosphere... IF the food is as good as anywhere else, then I'm okay to pay a little more for ambiance. Looks quite charming, this uni-cafe.
