Strapped

A new kiosk that I recently discovered in some malls here, Asprey (which has nothing to do with the British luxury goods store) has nothing except watch straps. They have straps in leatherette, rubber, plastic and real leather, all the colors of the rainbow, and a wide range of widths. Even if the way the strap is attached is unusual, they will accommodate the replacement request, spending time carefully slicing tiny portions out of the tough leather.

Talk about highly specialized products...but we have the same situation here...which can be a good thing, I think.

This is a very well-done photo combining the product with the employee!

Ah that's good, I wish they have straps for disposable watches like "swatch" hehe.

So this is a craft as well? I can seriously appreciate something like that. I don't know that people wear watches so much anymore, they use their cell phones, so this is doubly interesting.

Hilda we have the same here, they always fit it exactly by shaving of leather etc....

I really like the photo too.

There have been times when I could have used a kiosk like that. They certainly have a wide variety of straps.

When you need a new band, it's good to have such a nice selection like here.

Customer service like in the good old days? Too good to be true, but let's celebrate it with you!

Glad to see more people noticing Asprey. I like that they also have straps for the more expensive watches so you don't have to go to the store where you got said expensive watch from because certainly, they charge way more for just about the same thing.

So many colours and types, I guess it's difficult to choose one to buy! :)

Wow, the selection is mind boggling, Hilda. It would be hard to choose just one.

Interesting concept for a shop. When I saw this in the thumbnails, I thought you had taken a photo of those color swatches at the paint store. :)

Ah, I'll have to tell my sweetie about this... he is always looking for watch bands (he's as obsessed with watches as Imelda with shoes!). If this is a retail kiosk, I'm amazed the owner allows the mirror, a standard on every Pinay's office desk! :-D

Al:
They can change Swatch straps! It's what I was referring to when I mentioned unusual attachments.

Francisca:
I know, and I find it so unprofessional. But for once, this mirror isn't about vanity. The kiosk is square and she's alone, so the mirror lets her see behind her when she's working on a watch.

That's a good point, Hilda. :-)

When I need a new watch strap I go to a man in the market who fits it for me and doesn't charge very much - seems like a similar service here - does she also sell watches though - not just straps?
