The route I chose going home took me past a Manila Electric Company (Meralco) substation, and I noticed these guys repairing a transformer just outside the station. The man on the pole had on a harness, but he didn't have the line attached to anything! Sigh. Filipino men sometimes think they're related to Superman. He did attach it eventually, when he had to move to the other side of the pole—that was how I found out it wasn't attached in the first place. STUCK IN TRAFFIC SERIES #6

I know what you mean about filipinos acting like supermen. And I love collecting photos as evidence. hehe
Reminds me of Italians who wear a helmet when riding their motorbikes, because they'll get a ticket if they don't, but they don't fasten the chin strap...so it's no protection at all! It's not just Filipinos with a Superman complex!
Scary work up there. I would make sure I was fastened EVERYWHERE!!

Think I would manuever in traffic so the guy didn't fall on me!
TRès bon document. J'espère que ce travail n'est pas dangereux !
thanks for stopping by!
brilliant photo, love it! you're so right they're superman!
Lucky he spotted it wasn't attached before he moved. It could have ended in disaster!
But, Hilda! He had THIS on his chest!
What a jumble of wires. I have no idea how they know "which one."
oh my.. too many wires there, ckk..3x
What a mess! Interesting picture!
Not having a head for heights, this has been swaying already. The daily photos really do make us look around and find the strangest things. You wouldn't get me up there, with or without a harnees fixed.
Scary! I'm with babooshka - just looking at the photo makes me nervous - I hate heights!! It would really bother me to watch these guys taking chances...
Whether I can get a picture or not, these kinds of repair activities always have me stopping for a look. I really like the angle of this shot - sort of adds to the sense of peril!
an amusing photograph. Do the workmen have they a plan?
