Boiled koi

This is the small koi pond of Dencio's Bar and Grill in its enviable location on the roof deck of the strip mall beside the Capitol Hills Golf & Country Club. Outdoor dining is nice, but not for lunch in the middle of the Philippine summer. Even the koi are taking shelter in the shadow of the pedestals. Thank goodness the restaurant has an airconditioned dining room.

That's a nice looking patio but I think I'd stay inside with the a/c.
I know how hot it gets there. I feel sorry for the koi and I hope you are able to keep cool.

Hilda its boiling hot here too! I have a small Koi pond in my garden which is currently pea green(due to algae) mind you my Koi do get some shade!

When I read the title I thought you had gone to eat Koi :-)

I wouldn't be caught dead eating outdoors in all that scorching summer heat. Poor kois.

«Louis» will take a dish of the boiled koi - hold the koi, thank you...

(«Louis» doesn't "do" fish...)

Poor koi, but they are refreshed with the waters. Hahaha, I have lunch indoors!

It's such a beautiful spot for lunch. Shame about the heat.

We used to have a pond with koi and had to put an umbrella up for them.

I guess you didn't LITERALLY mean "boiled koi." My daughter had two goldfish that are growing HUGE in a tank that is about 3 gallons. This post reminds me that they need a nice big pond. Maybe this summer.....

I was glad to see that the title referred to a pond in the hot sun and not to something on the menu!

Your place sounds like my place - we don't even touch things that are outside in the summer!

I take it by all the other comments that it's really hot there? But this looks refreshing by the pond.

We went birding last week...today's post for my blog is all kinds of coastal bird photos. Do take a side trip over to my place if you can find some time to view many waterfowl.

Have a super day my friend.

a very cartchy title for this post. the heat right now is really extreme that even at night it's hot. thank God somebody invented the aircon.

That title really got my attention, Hilda! Try to stay comfortable. What did people in Manila do before air conditioning?

Sounds like summer in Mississippi! Looks like a nice place for outdoor dining though - just in the spring or fall. :)

Whew! For a moment I thought you were talking about people eating boiled koi! Ugh!

But thank goodness you were talking about the koi boiling in the sun...very cute!

A gorgeous place to be sure, but if I'm right in assuming your summers are like our summers, you don't want to be outside in the sun for just about any reason...except, well, for playing golf, maybe!

That looks like a really nice place & on the rooftop is a bonus, but I agree, not in the hot hot sun! heheheee

It gets hot like that here too in the summer months and I am dreading it!

Hi Hilda,
That's pretty :-) I heard about how hot it is back home. I can't imagine the heat.

I would love to have one of those Koi ponds but with our crazy winter here, I don't think my fishy would survive. LOL!

The idea of the koi looking for the shadow is too funny!

Haha! The title made me smile!!! :) But I guess the fishies aren't laughing. I love koi. I love them so much I almost got a tattoo of one. ALMOST. Hehe.

Beautiful koi pond. Great shot.

Nice! Reminds me of this joke: a little boy went over to the pond, looked long at hard at the water before calling over to his mum, "I can't see any fish!" "They're just being coy, dear!"

I was relieved that your title turned out not to be about koi on a plate.
