THEME DAY: BRIGHT COLORS • The outdoor Sunset Bar of Sofitel Manila has a small platform for performances and cultural presentations. The row of satin banners which serves as its backdrop is reminiscent of the colorful sail of the traditional Mindanao Muslim boat called the vinta. Quite appropriate since the hotel is right beside Manila Bay.

Wonderful post for Theme Day. I love how you caught the wind in the banners! My post will be up in about 11 hours, but today's is a nice tease.
Hi Hilds, this is pretty, it adds richness to the scene.... have a nice day..
i just wish they used the color combinations of the real vintas of mindanao. but still a good display.
Colorful banners in a colorful scene. Good choice for the theme.
Very colorful indeed! Have a Blessed Sunday!
This is great! Yes, Muslim culture is truly colourful! Now that brings back another memory. (I spent half of my high school in Marawi and had been to MSU there as well. So I know about the vinta.)
Lovely satin banner.
The colors of those satin banners fit nicely into the green environment.
Happy Theme Day, Hilda!
So beautiful - the fabric against those trees and sky. Gorgeous!
A great picture. Makes me want to sail in a vinta.
Hilda! The colors just made me feel so good! Love it!

This is, indeed, a wonderful and colorful backdrop...and your photo is excellent...I can see clearly the "satin." A beautiful place!
Always enjoy your explanations w/ posts.
I would never have made the connection to sails. It is all so obvious reading your explanation!
I'd love to see the actual sails! The bright colored banners make a great backdrop :D
A nice backdrop for any performance.
Beautiful colors! I hope the show is as good as the setting.
Nice colorful find. Looks like a terrific location for an outdoor stage and bar.
Wonderful shot Hilda, so bright and cheery!
What a super setting for the performances. Hmmm... I've never been in that hotel... may have to go have a look-see. Great shot, Hilda!
Hilda, I really like the colorful movement you captured; boy, I wish I was there.
By the way, I also enjoy your other posts, especially the ones about Quezon City and Baratylo. BTW, in Spanish Baratillo is a place where one gets good prices (gangas), sort of like swap meets or open markets. Baratillo is the diminutive for Barato (cheap). Quezón would be a large cheese, but you already know those things.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by AntiguaDailyPhoto.
beautiful banners
I can't imagine a more beautiful setting for more bright colors!
bright and tropical.
happy august theme day!
Wow, absolutely beautiful. That photo is so warm.
Colourful and shiny! Nice contribution to the August Theme Day:)
A rainbow of colours is a perfect way to express bright colours.
Very pretty and appropriate for theme day. The banners remind me of prayer flags.
perfect for theme day, those colorful vintas made it more attractive! ^0^
Boats under full sail is what came to mind when I saw this. I also like the rainbow feel which has so many symbolic applications.
This is a very beautiful, very colorful setting for a performance.
Super like ko! The satin banners remind of the Pan Arab flags....and the sky..oh! so lovely!
Sayang,na-missed ko nanaman ang theme day :(( From night 3 straight night duties kasi ako.
