Movers

Looks like one of our neighbors is moving away, after moving in less than five years ago. And I haven't even met her. Our street had a getting-to-know-you party two years ago and she wasn't able to attend, then my husband and I missed the one organized last year. Goodbye and good luck, whoever you are.

I think many people don't know their neighbours these days. I think its just the way society is today, sadly. Glad that your street has getting-to-know parties. Thats a great idea!

Hi Hilda - maybe you should be the get-to-know-everyone organizer this year. I sense you're outgoing, even if you're busy.

Kind of sad, but nice you celebrated her here.

Hilda, how bout some doors of Manila? Then again, you take a lot of fabo outdoor shots.

Your post made "Louis" stop and think and realize that he doesn't know three neighbors living on the same floor of the condo building where he and Mme. la Vache live. Then there's the neighbor next door that he DOESN'T want to know!

Well, I'm glad to hear that not knowing neighbors isn't just an American thing. Maybe it's a way to have privacy.

We have a saying in French "pour vivre heureux, vivons cachés" (to live happy, live hidden) - seems like it was your neighboor's motto. And frankly, besides the guy across the hall. I don't know my neighbors either.

We were always so busy with work and didn't really know our neighbors until we retired. Our closest came over and mowed my field when I was in the hospital so I wouldn't be concerned about doing it when I arrived home. A very thoughtful neighbor indeed.

Like Eliane said, I don't know my neighbors very well either except a HI or GOOD MORNING when I see them in the hall way or the elevator.
