A frozen dessert for me

For decades, the only frozen yogurt available in Manila was Better Than Ice Cream (BTIC), which is made of yogurt but has the flavor and consistency of ice cream. I've nothing against that, but I happen to like the tartness of yogurt. Nestlé came out with frozen yogurt about a decade ago, but I guess the market here wasn't ready for it yet because it didn't last long. So I've been waiting for years, and now suddenly, it's all over the place. I, for one, am not complaining. Yogurbud is just one of many frozen yogurt stalls that have sprouted in malls throughout Metro Manila this year. My husband orders it with fruit (this has strawberry and mango cubes) and I like it plain. I really, really hope that this isn't just a passing fad.

We buy Dannon yogurt most of the time and like it very much. They came out with whipped or foamy yogurt which means it is mostly filled with air and a yogurt taste. I don't like it. I prefer the real yogurt with fruit. Something like what you have shown on your blog today.

Looks delicious, especially with the fruit on top! I'm on the lookout for soy yoghurt these days since discovering I'm intolerant to dairy products...:-(

I would order mine with fruit too, just like your husband. I usually just buy regular vanilla flavor yogurt and add frozen fruit to it at home. I think blueberries are my favorite, but I like the mixed fruit too.

It looks good. I guess it was a passing fad for me. My wife and I used to get it all the time about 10 or 15 yrs ago, but it's been a long while since or last time.

I'm eating really good Greek yogurt called Oare total it comes w/honey or fruit puree on the side. Yum yum! The problem is I can never go back to Yoplait or Dannon and it costs 3 or 4x as much.

Oh Yes, we are huge huge yogurt fans! So much so, that I have no clue what ice cream tastes like anymore. Your husband's choice would be mine, your choice would be my husbands, lol. Good for you!!

The mango has to be a Manila vanilla thang. Around here it would never be mango, pineapple, maybe. I hope you get all the frozen yogurt your hear desires, Hilda. Happy bloggers are, well, happy!

this looks yum... India is yet to get yogurt. We have Indian versions of curd made sweets like Srikhand which are a good alternative to ice creams.

But this looks delicious will see if i can get something similar here in Delhi.
