Stark

lobby of Bayleaf Hotel in Intramuros, ManilaThe Bayleaf is a boutique hotel which opened two years ago in Intramuros, the oldest district in the City of Manila. Stepping inside its modern and minimalist lobby after seeing 17th-century walls and buildings can either be jarring or soothing depending on your frame of mind.

I love this kind of decor, especially when juxtaposed against the old. I'd definitely stay at this hotel!

It does look calming to me. Very pretty!

Interesting decor. Reminds me more of an art display than a hotel though!

I think I'd find that clean, minimalist interior soothing. I'm not a city guy, at least not for more than a few days at a time. But I love seeing city photos!

Great subtlety in the recurring bayleaf design. I think I'd love to spend time admiring more of this hotel's design.

I like! The aura is one of richness and elegance! I find that welcoming and an indication of what one might find elsewhere in the place.

Very artistic--nice reflection. I like the Bayleaf logo.

The structure shot on my blog is a feeder or manger. One puts the hay inside and the animals pull the hay through the side and eat. MB

'Stark' is a very apt description of this lobby. But I must admit that I rather like it.

I like it but it is a bit too much impersonal for my taste.

It's fantastic! Love it.

I'm so sorry about the floodings. Do stay safe, Hilda.

«Louis» is not always fond of modern, minimalist design, but in this case, it looks appealing.

«Louis» thanks you for your visit to San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.
