Strange fusion

The kids that run Pino restaurant have a knack for creating dishes that sound strange when you read the descriptions in the menu but taste absolutely heavenly. This is one of them. Cheese sticks with nori (seaweed) wrapped in wonton wrappers, deep fried and served with strawberry sauce and nori relish. Pino's Nori Cheesesticks is supposed to be an appetizer but I can eat all eight finger-sized pieces for dinner.

OK, I read your description and conclude that I'd be happy after eating 8-10. They sound really delicious. (Are you shipping them out to all of your 1,000s of blogger friends? Yes?)

Look great, but knowing the ingredients I wouldn't order - unless I am really tired of bacon cheese burgers :) Strawberry and seaweed - you really surprised!

Actually, the ingredients don't sound all that good at first read, but I think I'd probably like these...

And if you say they're good...well...they must be!

I agree that these sound strange, but they look delicious. If I were there I'd try to get a bite of one of your cheesesticks!

You were doing fine until you got to the seaweed part.... ;-(

There you go tempting our tastebuds again. I'll just ask you the same thing they used to ask us when we were kids....Did you bring enough for everyone??

What a weird combination! Too bad I'm too lazy to try and make it... :-/

en effet cela semble étrange, mais j'aimerais bien gouter, je suis très très très gourmand ;o))

Indeed this seems strange, but I'd like to try, I am very very very greedy ;o))

Gosh, they even look good enough to eat to me. Some things, like squid, I can't get past the description.

Thank you for helping me make history. Pick a Peck of Pixels

Hilda:

I've been away and am just catching up on your blog. Great to find this fabulous food shot to start my day! Makes me hungry!

Loved the Sunday post too. We really should start a "Sacred Sunday" meme! You, Jerusalem Daily Hills, Monastery Daily Photo, Ocala Daily Photo, Greensboro Daily Photo..... Lots of the daily photo crowd posting religious themed photos regularly! After I posted the Hebrew Academy photo, shot through the fence, I got an invite to come inside to take photos! Finally, a PERK for volunteer blogging!

The combination doesn't sound exactly appetizing, but I know from experience that things that sound that way sometimes are delicious. Sometimes i take a bite of something, then a bite of something else, and I think, oh, what a great taste sensation.

I make a peanut butter veggie dip that everyone loves, but when they ask me what is in it, i tell them peanut butter, but ask them to try it before I tell them the ingredients, otherwise they won't try it.

You can find the recipe for it here:
Three Veggie Dips

Now I've got to go and get something to eat.
