Zombie plaza

One of the few industries that continues to grow in the Philippines is business process outsourcing (BPO). The most common services offered here are customer contact services, finance and accounting, and human resource. Eastwood City (the same place with the pretty mall) was one of the first property developments that offered office buildings specifically targeted to the BPO industry. E-Commerce Plaza is only one of the eight there and collectively, they're called the Eastwood City CyberPark. Now, why my title? Well, with clients from all over the world, most BPO companies operate 24/7, especially call centers. All their employees get assigned the graveyard shift at one point or another, hence the nickname for them: call center zombies.

Zombies is a good name for those who are unfortunate enough to work the graveyard shift.

hahaha I think one of those zombies helped me some months ago when I had problems with my Norton Internet Security.
In fact, I phoned the help centre and a guy speaking English with a different accent took the call! ;)
Btw, he helped me a lot on that day!
It worked.
God bless you
Léia :)

I used to work that "zombie" shift years ago. Did it for 15 yrs. At times, I felt just like the name say's. I don't do it anymore!

I know several people here that look like zombies even at the start of a normal workday...

Very interesting. Are these some of the people I talk to in the wee hours when my computer breaks down or the modem goes out?

I guess someone has to do it, but I would not be able to function on the graveyard shift at all!

Perfect title!

that is a very challenging job. having a graveyard shift doubles the pressure of being sleepy and at the same time working hard.

So empty and desolate looking for something that, likely, is teeming with life-- inside, that is.

Great new profile pic. You look so dignified!

7/2 will be an art photo on GDP. Having seen all of your theatre posts, I predict you will like it!

Graveyard? Zombies?? Maybe you should get in touch with Stephen King. You've got the makings of a movie there.

Very interesting! Hope they pay them extra for working overnight! I like the design of the building - very modern and clean. Reminds me about The Wall :)

I've never heard that classification before.

'Call center zombies' is a great discription for people who have to work in the middle of the night to be available to people on the other side of the world.
